Angry Seas...

By Scottishlandscapes
...on the west coast of Lewis during a storm which lashed the sea into a foam filled fury at Mangujtradh.

A long day that started early with sunrise on a beach on the other side of the peninsula here followed by a great breakfast back at the hotel and later we ventured out on the cliffs to see this, the sun even came out, eventually.

Fantastic rock shapes, textures, shadows, but sadly no paddling for you that morning, Dougie Sad

Excellent shot.

Alan paddling was the last thing I would have thought about that day, you wouldn't take a boat into that maelstrom far less your feet.

I posted a version on yesterdays image cropped as suggested. It does look better for losing the bright sky at the top.

Perfect focal length, Dougie. Excellent sharpness and clarity.
Is f/8 that lenses sweet spot?

Angry sea? Certainly doesn't look terribly chuffed with anything...

Thanks to all for taking the time to comment, special thanks to John (Dudler) for his user award.

Marc (saltireblue) one of the best lenses I've ever owned, best between f/ 8 and 11. But it's pretty good wide open too.
