Interesting shot. Smile Best in colour, I think, as the beach and water merge to look rather like concrete in the black and white. I think I'd prefer this taken either from a bit lower, so the bollards broke the horizon, or a bit higher, so they were further clear of it. The textures work well.

Thanks for the observation David. The comp you suggest is something I actually considered but in the end I prefered the symmetry here. I sort of saw the end prcessing in my head and went with it.

Everything leads inevitably towards the horizon but the shadows won't play along, they're going their own sweet way regardless. Nice one.
Has to be colour.
Edit - DRicherby's comment has been added since I opened this, I would like the posts to reach into the sky too, but a lower pov would reduce the impact of the perspective, which I think is more important here.

Really fabulous processing.
The sepia version is like an old postcard found in the attic and leaves the viewer wondering why it was bought? What story lies behind this image and who was the postcard intended for?
Lovely thought invoking image of another time, nicely done.

your colour version is for me like an attempt at the same image but bringing it up to date. I mean this in a good way not looking down my nose at it. So have my UA with good wishes.

If it's good enough for the master it's good enough for me.

I couldn't possibly write anything as imaginative as Dougie so I'll just say, V1 for me and I like it just the way it is.

Love the POV in this one and the feel of infinity. V2 is lovely but the colour and light in V1 is just so great.
