Fantastic action shot, half of me says it would have been better if you could have got all of the wings in. The other half says no, it is moer dramatic as it is. Either way it is well worth a click.

Thank you for the comment. I too would have liked to have seen how this turned out if I'd got all the wings in the frame. This bit of action happened too fast for me to think off pulling back the lens. The wingspan on these birds is so great that with their wings fully extended you lose the sense of expression in the body and head unless being able to view super large. I have lots of shots of wings, tails and tallons that fill the frame for the fault of being too close.

Superbly captured action. Nature at the sharp end Melanie. Ron.
A war dance avian style, great work Mel, once again you produce a perfectly unique image from a visit to a country across the World. Superb quality and great dramatic action, capturing the moment to perfection.

An every day experience for the birds in question, converted into a moment of almost theatrical drama with your exceptional photographic skills.

Pulling back would have denied us the detail in claws and eyes and these elements are what this shot is about. Spot on exposure.

A very impressive shot IMO. I like the close-up feel to this as it focusses attention on their struggle for an advantage in life.
