Right. Very different from the situation in England then... stuff being nicked all the time, livestock as well as equipment. I recall years ago a local farmer being prosecuted after police found a stolen tractor inside one of his haystacks... ( yes, we used to have actual haystacks. )

We still have farm crime, machinery and livestock, sheep mostly. Most of the land in Rural Scotland is owned by large estates with workers dotted across the county's a couple of phone calls and a tractor parked across a single track road is quite effective.
It' not helped by the drastic reduction of cops on the roads and streets and the closures of Police stations.
Enough already.
