Bee Orchid #1

By Scutter
Another Bee Orchid from Greece. This is a stack of 8 shots. There is a little "friend" resting on the base of the middle flower which I decided to leave.

These orchids are profuse at this time of year in the Peloponese and there is a great range of types all subtly different. I havent id'd this species so if anyone knows I would be interested to hear. (and my previous upload too if you are keen!)

Lovely Shot Ben, nice detail Smile

I would not have a clue on which Bee Orchid this is, other than it would be in the genus of Ophrys. There are some 200 species of orchids throughout Greece so may take some time to get an exact match

Excellent photo, the focus stacking has really worked well here.
I have a sneaky suspicion that this might actually be a late spider orchid or ophrys fuciflora, which has a bright yellow base to the lip.
