Another from Wednesday's shoot at Rochester Cathedral.

A pulpit (from Latin pulpitum "scaffold", "platform", "stage") is a small elevated platform from which a member of the clergy delivers a sermon in a house of worship. In many Christian churches, there are two speakers who stand at the front of the church. Typically, the one on the left (as viewed by the congregation) is called the pulpit. Since the Gospel lesson is often read from the pulpit, the pulpit side of the church is sometimes called the gospel side. The other speaker's stand, usually on the right (as viewed by the congregation), is known as the lectern. The word lectern comes from the Latin word "lectus", past participle of legere, meaning "to read", because the lectern primarily functions as a reading stand. It is typically used by lay people to read the scripture lessons (except for the Gospel lesson), to lead the congregation in prayer, and to make announcements.

Thanks as always for your time, your thoughts/comments are very welcome

....and better and better.
I could look at this for ages, the light, all the differing tones, the arch shapes and beautiful carving. You have brought it to life, and your format and composition and just perfect.

Thanks everyone.
Ray I agree, it is leaning a little. I have to admit to getting a bit frustrated (that's the mild version) with trying to correct the distortion - this is the best that it got Wink

This has almost metallic tone, gold, pewter, silver, and then the contrast of the rich warm wood. I do want to rotate/skew the image though, it's mainly the angle of the organ pipes that I find a bit distracting.

A lovely spot in the Cathedral to just stand and be amazed Sarah. And a great place to take a picture too, which you've done very well here. Nicely worked too.

I've never visited Rochester, it looks like one of those smaller more solid cathedrals, simpler somehow. I must admit I prefer these to the showier big boys!
In terms of the slight lean in the picture, if you use perspective then you need to stretch the image as well after getting the verticals right. You could also try distort or skew.
Nice processing.
