Mallard Duck

By SharonJ
I think this duck is cross between a Mallard and a Muscovy Duck. Would appreciate your views on this.

Nice shot Sharon, I like it.

I'm no bird/duck expert, this a Mallard?? I didn't think Mallards were this colour, plus don't they usually have a very distinctive feather on their side?

I could be wrong.......probably am to be honest!

The male Mallard has a green head and neck with mainly brown and white feathers on its body....if in doubt just call it a duck !
Nice one Sharon.

It's a lovely shot. The light is really nice. Some folk would clone out the tree but I like it. Unusual looking duck, love the pose. Well done. Quack!

watcha Sahron,
like this, well captured, guddun,
Also like the debate, it is a muscovy duck, they come in all sorts of colours, this one is a pied drake, it doesn't even look remotely like a mallard, oh, all right, it has webbed feetSmile
