Good shot. Not the easiest as they tend to keep their distance. Just a little lacking in sharpnes. Perhaps a faster shutter speed next time.

I find for the flight shots of Kestrels you have to get the ISO up to about 400 to give you that fast shutter and about F8. The its just a case of trying to keep on the eye, difficult when they soar but in the hovver you can at times get close. Nice attempt at this fine male, all I can manage are females

the female was about but further away she was first to catch something i too love kestrels fav bird so hard working. great advice thanks i didnt think bird flight shots would be so hard but i keep trying.
