Hope Valley Mists

By sherlob
52/52

Taken on the 27th Dec on a return to Mam Tor. This is the kind of image I had been hoping for on my visit from Xmas morning - albeit I had also hoped to see the mists rolling across the Great Ridge and Hollins Cross. It wins no points for originality, but I'm pleased to include tis in my portfolio. Still, I'm not 100% happy with the outcome, but I will consider this a work in progress and recognise more trips to Mam Tor will be needed Smile

Well that's it - the year and this 1/52 project is over. I've enjoyed it immensely, and I found my photography has grown. In particular I have dabbled in genres that I haven't considered seriously before (astrophotography been a particular example, producing a charity calendar another - I estimate this has so far raised some 1800 for PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide). However, it has been challenging at times - particularly in the last 6 weeks or so where the winter weather and the pressures of life in general have at times gotten in the way. Overall, I am happy with the majority of the images, albeit there are a couple I'd rather have delegated to the bin! Time, as ever, has been the biggest hurdle, and so I am unsure at the moment as to whether to do it again or not. I suspect for this next year a 1/12 project may be more realistic.

Have a very happy and safe new year. Thanks for all the support!

Adam

You did very well. It is a challenge for sure.
This is an interesting photo. Usually I don't care for industrial scenes, but this has a beauty factor with the wonderful mists and the lights.

A modern castle, owned by the rich and giving sustenance to the worker bees.

Well done on completely the self-imposed challenge, Adam, and pleasing to hear that you have benefitted from the experience.

There's something apocalyptic about today's image.

It's a good image Adam, and a lot of people will like it even if you're not 100%on it (if we really think about it how many of our images are fully 100% but if we can ackmowledge that we can do something about it so our next images are closer to what we want.
Gets my vote anyway.

Apocalyptic, yes. At the start of the industrial revolution that orange would be from fires and furnaces rather than sodium lights.
