hi all,
just before Christmas I bought myself (self-present?) a new lens, so when my Lady went out for the last minute shopping, I took the occasion to test it. My son did not bring with him any i-something to pass the time (shopping can kill a man).
this was taken from the hip, through a mirror.
Isn't beautiful how a mirror can put in focus different planes?

enjoy your 2013 and thanks for looking

a bit late, but a special thank you to Nonur for his UA on my last upload. Much appreciated

Just enough face, but composed for the two hands - which are both so eloquent. From the reflection, that lower hand is about to droop onto the floor, and then it's a long way back up again...
I agree about reflections. They are a natural filter, they create another reality at one remove from ours.

Superb Smile The hands say it all - the attitude of a slighly bored teenager, holding up his head with one hand and letting the other drop - body language speaks volumes. Inclusion of the mirror on the right hand is perfection.

WOW! Francesco, this is an exceptionally and artistically well composed B&W top quality image, and it certainly deserves great attention. I LOVE it!

Excellent shot.
Before reading your commentary, I was quite baffled by the mirror reflection lol
Looks great in mono.

thank you all,
just a clarification: the main part of the image is reflected, while the small part on the right side is the direct vision.

Great start with your new toy, The two planes make for a really interesting shot, and the crop on the glasses is superb

(I love my little EF 50mm, its such a great lens, especially indoors in low light. I live in a dark cottage and it means I can shoot the family without flash.)

A young man left alone with his thoughts: bravo!
His hands tell a tale all of their own . . .

I have altered the last sentence three times as others had borrowed my thoughts in advance Wink

A fine photograph, Francesco. No i-somethings for me, either!

Enjoy your new toy - and Happy New Year!
