Singing Ringing Tree

By shootersclough
The iconic Singing Ringing Tree is to be found at Crown Point, high on the moors looking overlooking Burnley. It is one of a series of four 'Panopticons' (meaning a structure, space or device providing a comprehensive or panoramic view) artworks located across Pennine Lancashire. The Singing Ringing Tree is a unique musical sculpture in the form of a wind-blown tree, designed by award-winning architects Tonkin-Liu. Catching the westerly winds, the pipes emit an intriguing melodic sound, only audible at close range
