I took this image for an assignment at my photography club in Port Moody near Vancouver. The assignment was to take a picture of kids and I stumbled across this wonderful sculpture near Jericho Beach in Vancouver which fit the bill nicely.

Thanks for looking and please feel free to leave your thoughts…..

Excellent, and right up my street. This gets into the intimate world of the children, even if they are bronze. Shallow dof, wide angle, get in close, avoid background - very well thought out!

Well captured. I know they are statues, but they give me the feeling of a sad little girl with a boy behind being mean to her.............Sandy

Thank you Moira…… was actually your PF which inspired me for some of my recent shots that I have taken. These definitely required more thought which really helped pre-visualise the image before just snapping away. I enjoyed this very much. Thanks you again.

Thank you too Sandy. For some reason there is a little sadness in the girls face and yet the actual statue shows them walking a large log with their arms stretched out for balance……..from distance it looks like they are having fun playing but my close-up get closer to her facial expression which gives a different perspective. Perhaps the boy in being mean, and she is trying to get away………..I guess the usual brother and sister relationship at that age.

This is a wonderful image, I like how the eye leads to the figure in the background.
