Snowy Lighthouse

By MattB1987
Evening all!
Well today I just wanted to have a play with some of my snowy photos from a couple of weeks ago and this one popped up from Happisburgh lighthouse. It wasn't snowing at the time but I thought that the photo would benefit from a blizzard of snow.

I cheated and added some snow blowing across the sky using a combination of a fill layer, some added noise and some motion blur to finish. I ended up with a more 'arty' photo than I expected which I actually quite happy with.

Anyway as 'art' is subjective I would love to hear your opinions (though it's probably not art). But thank you for looking and I hope you enjoyed it.

Cheers,

Matt

Fab photo, I love the oddness of the lighthouse in the snow. Great composition.

Very effect, Matt, and the composition with a splash of red colour is a pretty decent photo to start with.

Well worked with the snow layer Matt, for me the light house and building prehaps needs some of the layer blending over them as they stands out a little too much, might be worth a look

An unusual image - somehow I have never put snow and a lighthouse together in my mind, but it works very well - I really like it SmileSmile
