Thank you for your comments and this intro to Macedonia. I am a bit curious about the door knocker because at a glance it looks like one, but on further analysis it is rather curious and different from the ornate door knockers I am familiar with (how does it work here?). The door looks particularly old especially in view of the elegant table in the last shot. Do you have a shot of the entire door? Regards,

Really is a different knocker Paul, but its position is as you see in the image. I have one shot of the entire door but from a distance, so you can't see the knocker. On the other half of the door there is exactly the same knocker and I guess they used the rings to put some lock.
