Taken this afternoon,I backlit the rose with window light. The background was changed to black in PS and a slight tweak of unsharp mask.
I'm not sure about this one and would appreciate your comments.

I like it very much, I love the colour of the rose, and with a black background you can see the rose for what it really is!

The color is good, but I'm not crazy about the white line around the rose. The outline looks unnaturally like a cut-out. Not your usual good work.

Hi Joline, I made sure that there was a line around the outeredge so that it stood out from the background. It too me a while to decide on it but I do agree with you.

nice attempt and worth the vote for that, guddun.
I think you're right not to be sure about it, the flower doesn't sit naturally on the bg, that's probably because of the back lighting producing a halo that looks like blurring and sharpening halos???
