Good morning from a wet and windy Cape Town
Thank you for your amazing support for my Saddle bill stork yesterday...much appreciated.
The Sunrise above was taken on the morning after the huge bush fire in the Kruger National park. The morning air was thick with smoke and was quite difficult to breathe. As the sun came up it looked like a sunset as the sun was so filtered. The colours are true and have not been manipulated. I will upload a few sunsets as well from our trip. Every evening game drive we stop the vehicle in an open are and we get out for an evening sundowner. My choice is always a G+T, Rob, my husband has a glass of wine. The Tracker normlly keeps his eyes open for predators. 2 years ago he got talking to us during our morning coffee and muffin stop and none of us noticed a cheetah female had approached us. Rob turned to get back into the landcruiser and did not see the cheetah standing 4 metres from him, I screamed, my husband jumped in so quickly after that, she got a fright and ran away.
I am also going to upload some 'BEHIND' the scenes images to show you just how close these animals get to us and indeed how brave our Tracker is...he has nerves of steel. The image with the elephant in front of him actually lifted her trunk sniffed at his face and knocked his cap off his head.
Hope you enjoy and have a great day
