I'll do some more later I promise.
Ah, nice one Paul. You keep it up mate, mind you I could have slain little Deefa trying to take this pic, he wouldn't sit still. I then told him he was adopted and I was glad I wasn't his real dad and he gave me the little face in the pic

Like this a lot... BUT...
I don't know to be honest, whether I would have realised it was a composite if you hadn't said, but when I saw that it was, I looked more closely at his expression.
I think there is a certain look that dogs give when they have been told to 'leave' and they are desperate to take... they look very tense and strain ever so hard not to look at what they are not supposed to be taking... but maybe every so often just a quick glance to check that its still there...
You might find it entertaining to try it 'for real' - you may end up with an entertaining series of the whole sequence - ending I assume with bone in mouth!

Again thank you to all for the clicks and comments etc. I am working on a new tutorial which I hope to have finished in the next week or so, you've all spurred me on
Sus, your comments are greatly appreciated thank you. Yes, the expression, looking through you PF you are obviously a lover of dogs yourself. Beagles are just notoriously disobediant yet become the most hyper-active of animals at the mere sniff of food. I just couldn't risk putting the bone on the plate for fear of him having it off -it was a chicken bone afterall. I could have used a different kind of bone, but, I wanted the image to feature a small bone that made his expression look right i.e. Is that It??? I did try a lamb bone but it just didn't look as good and for me spoiled the overall 'finish' of the image. I could probably have achieved the look you are after if I had nailed him to the table though
Cheers guys

This is just amazing work, and such a great lesson in composite photography and image creation. The awards are justly deserved, and I hope that this image manages iconic status just like another epz dog. Wonderful work. Well done indeed, and thanks so much for educating so many of us as to how you have achieved this look.
