Lunch 143

By SimonFletch
Greetings everyone and thank you for your Votes & Comments on 'Lunch 142 - The White-browed Coucal'. A belated special mention for Dave , for his precious User Award, for 'Lunch 141 - The Thomson's Gazelle' and for which I am very grateful.

I again apologise for my brevity, but another early morning business meeting calls me away.

Today's 'Lunch'
... is a Grey-headed Sparrow. A small bird, 6" long and fairly common resident of the Mara area of Kenya. There are a variety of this species in the country, this one being known as the "Swahili" Sparrow. It generally eats seeds from the ground, but is shown in these images tucking into a caterpillar. I know, I really should have found a different bird; that's twice in a row I shall catch the wrath of Carol...Blush

Have a Wonderful Wednesday, everyone ...!

Now a future butterfly bites the dust, Simon, whatever next? Sad How about an image of a mongoose or other brave creature tackling/eating a snake, now that I would be happy to see Smile Three fine captures of sparrow and sustenance. Carol

This subtly coloured beauty has obviously been reading the health gurus' pronouncements that we should eat more greens. I particularly like the eye contact in V3.
