  • Is that really Jack Sparrow read below to find out ?

In an ideal world a pop of flash would have been great or you could have boosted the exposure via your aperture/ISO/shutter speed because a brighter image would have burnt out the background a little as it is very distracting.(especially the 2 heads coming out of his shoulders).
I understand you can't always do this on the fly otherwise you could miss the shot so boosting exposure etc in Photoshop would help boost the shadows in the face.
Consider shooting at a lower angle to get rid of distracting backgrounds and this would also make your character look larger than life.
For this image you could just add a gausian blur to the background.
Love the character, his costume is super cool.

A nice object with loads of detail but on its own its not strong enough as a picture, the brown out of focus cutting across the picture is distracting and doesn't add anything, backgrounds can make or break an image, so think what you could do different, shoot at a different angle to remove the distraction or choose a totally different background.
The same goes for the black area bottom right, getting rid of this may lift the picture.
Sometimes adding context takes a picture to a whole new level, try shooting from much lower down looking up at the duck head with a gentleman holding the walking stick with him out of focus, this will not only add context but make the image much more interesting, also this would be a wonderful backdrop for such a cool prop.
With regards to the vignette I do like it which draws your eye to the duck but once again the brown wooden distraction takes away from that.
As we can see your legs and room in the reflection of the gold ring on the base of the duck head, changing angles may eliminate this but this would be trial and error.

Hope this helps and good luck
