A very large driftwood tree, Drummore Beach (In memory of James and Susan Kenneavy)

By sjcphotography
As soon as I saw this large tree, I knew I had to photograph it. I decided a black & white conversion improved the look.

The presence of this large tree, shows the power of natural forces. I suspect it may have been washed up during a storm, as it is quite far away from the high tide line.

On the subject of storms, about a halve mile further along the beach, James and Susan Kenneavy took a terrible risk driving on a road that was closed due to very dangerous conditions, created by Storm Diana in November 2018. It is suspected that falling boulders smashed the car windows, then both were sucked out by the waves and drowned. Their car was found on the beach, smashed and battered to pieces. I'd like to dedicate this image to their memory.

A very fine dedication Steven! I like the photo a lot too. It is a photo with very fine contrast between the white three and the dark stones. Also like the composition.
Good work Steven!
