Pheasant Chick (Phasianus colchicus)

By sjcphotography
I saw an adult male and female Pheasant. As I walked closer, the male walked further ahead. To my surprise, however, the female came running towards me with her feathers spread out and she moved about around my feet! She also made a call, perhaps as a warning!

This isn't the usual behaviour of Pheasants, who will soon walk, run, or fly away when approached. I began to wonder if there is a nest of eggs, or youngsters about, although I couldn't see any at that time. As I walked on, I saw the Youngsters to my delight and I managed a few images. : Smile
