Inspired by all the comments on The Seagull has Landed , and by a recent picture by Nick_W Gotham City , I thought I would have a go at a similar long exposure (upshot???).

This is the result. Number One Tower Block (Lipstick Tower) in Portsmouth's Gunwharf standing 101metres tall.

A 4.5 minute exposure using a Lee Big Stopper as well as a Lee Solid ND1.2 - giving 14 stops in total (it was a very bright day).

I hope you like the result, I know its still a long exposure, but this style of shot is very new to me and I really enjoyed the challenge.

Thanks for looking and to all those that clicked and commented on yesterdays upload.

Long exposures really enhance architecture images I think Mark and this is no exception. The streaking clouds isolate and frame the building whilst simplifying the comp. They also enhance the sleek lines of glass and steel while your mono converstion really brings out the rhythm of the building structure. When you couple that with a less usual PoV and a symmetrical comp you've created a really powerful and effective image with lots of impact. Congratulations and I think you should take this as an end to your 'photographer's block' you were discussing yesterday! Grin

Mark, this one came right out the page at me........and moves into my fav Mark shot. A fantastic comp with a great tone to it. A little imagination and could be a wing or a path in the sky......such a 3d effect. Strong detail and line used here.........would be very pleased with this one mate....a little skeet UA..............nice job.

A very creative POV, Mark. The building almost looks like a pier stretching out into the water.
