New Jersey is known for its ocean beaches, but the migrating birds go to the Delaware Bay beaches on the other side of the state. So we packed it in for the remote beach town of Fortescue in search of red knots. Yup, if you look at the tiny dots off in the distance right below the sun, those are red knots. Turns out the beach was closed to humans for the duration of the bird migration, which didn't help the bird photography much, but did make for a nice landscape.
