This is a re-working of an image I took some years ago. Based on the comments both here and at camera club I went out and had another go. This time with more success. The judge gave it 19 out of 20 in our "Movement" competition.

With a crop factor of 1.5 that 20 mm lens has the view of a 30 mm lens on 35 mm film suggesting that your shutter speed is the minimum recommended for sharp image [ 1/(focal length) ] So, well done capturing the sharp background - and great choice of shutter speed to get such wonderful motion in the subject. I really appreciate the teaching opportunities offered by posting the exif data in photos like this - thanks.
