Sun Surf and Seagulls

By SkySkape
Top marks at camera club this month. The competition subject was "A Sussex Postcard" The original was a grab shot from a walk along the beach. The problem is that I had forgotten to reset the white balance from the last session. For some reason I held on to this image rather than delete it as all well disciplined photographers do. The judge did comment that the sun was somewhat dominant and broke several rules but (for this competition) it worked. The photo was taken in December 2014 while restoration work on the pier was under way following the fire earlier that year. Bye the way I have broken one of my pedantic rules with the title. I am constantly telling my family that there are no such birds as a Seagull. That is the nickname of Brighton and Hove Albion football team and supporters. The birds in the picture are Herring Gulls.
