What a lovely day today. The sun was out, it was fresh and clear, so I went mudlarking down the Thames with my camera. I gave the 17-55mm a good run out and discovered that at 2.8, the camera focusses slightly in front of the subject. So that was a lesson learned. It might have been me though, so I'll do a better test next time. Have still got to master the on-camera flash though and I haven't quite got the hang of what setting to use so that the lens barrel doesn't cast a shadow. Although I took nearly 200 shots I've just been through them and most of them were so boring, whether exposed correctly etc. or not, that I've deleted all but five of them. This is one of the keepers, although it's not particularly good. It's underneath the pavement taken from the beach.
