It's been a funny week. I've veered from bored stiff, to worrying about rats incessantly, to being worn out. But today I felt a bit more normal. This has probably got to do with the fact that it's a bit cooler and I felt in the mood to pick up a camera.
I've been reading through the forums again about lenses (always a bad idea), and sort of ended up at the London Camera Exchange. I now find myself the proud owner of a new Panasonic 20mm f1.7. Now how did that happen? Anyway, I'm really pleased with it, it's gorgeous. But before I bought it I tried out some street stuff with the old sticky 14-42 kit lens stuck at 20mm and this worked really well so I knew I wanted a prime of that focal length. I already have the Canon 40mm STM but I'm finding the 60D too heavy at the moment as I've sprained my wrist rather badly and the weight's too much, but now I have a lovely little G5+20mm MFT set-up so I'm very pleased.
This shot was taken as I was going to the underground to go up town with the kit lens (which despite being sticky and cheap-feeling, is still quite a nice lens). The shot is heavily cropped as they were stomping off at a pace in front of me. I don't know what the drivers must have thought of my running up behind this lot and taking pictures, but that's wot photographers do. I liked all the different trousers (cacks to us east enders), and how some were tight, others hung low and some were just ordinary. There was a postman in front wearing shorts but I couldn't get him and the others all in a line.
