Five cameras and no use at all

Thanks for dropping by. All clicks and comments very much appreciated. Smile

I like documentary and street photography, but a bit of anything else on the side. I tend not to use Photoshop too much, just sticking to the basic adjustments, but sometimes break free to try something "arty".

Thank you for visiting. I love seeing all your photos and hope you like mine.

Five cameras and no use at all

8 Jan 2015 11:25AM   Views : 638 Unique : 463

Next door just had a robbery and I saw the thief jump over into our garden and run off over the next fence. I ran out and shouted at him and he dropped his loot but by the time I got my camera ready he'd got away. Bums! Just when you need a quick shot too. So, an exciting and worrying start to the day, but no picture. Sad Police didn't even take a statement despite them finding a firearm and me getting a good look at him. You do wonder.

A Lovely Day in the Park

The day was lovely and fresh after the storms of the past week, and the air was clean and bright. Lots of families out in the park enjoying the cooler weather.

Messing with the Mirror

Thought I'd use my little Lumix 20mm lens for a bit, so just went around the house and garden snapping stuff. I did a selfie in my 3-way mirror so it's here, just for the record. Will try it on some street stuff soon - I'd forgotten how nice it is....

Fox

Just a record shot of one of my garden foxes showing its teeth. Didn't realise they were so big.

Wildlife in the Park

It was all happening in the park. The warm weather brought out a load of wildlife, most of which was moving too fast to snap, but I got a couple. The only slow things were some rather large terrapins who were parked on an unused coot's nest, sunbath...

You wonder indeed; it keeps their crime figures down.
CCTV is pretty much the only always on way to record them; unless their are willing to stop for a while and pose with some nice side lighting and reflector; don;t forget to ask them for ID to be sure they are over 18Wink

Actually, I'd be well annoyed if they did not take a full description and try to correlate this with other robberies in the area. I might even call up the main desk and ask why.

Hi Stuart, pretty worrying isn't it? Especially as two other houses down my road have been robbed this week. Only a matter of time for us possibly. Sad
We've actually had two unsuccessful break-in attempts and one overnight robbery when we were actually at home in bed! I don't think I want to leave the house empty every again tbh.

There should be a community support officer you can contact for your area as this does sound like a trend that needs stopping.
Make a bit of a fuss, even write nicely to your MP if you get no joy. If they keep getting away with stuff they get worse.

Good Luck Chris.
