Tweenie with Elsie, Maureen and Dennis

Thanks for dropping by. All clicks and comments very much appreciated. Smile

I like documentary and street photography, but a bit of anything else on the side. I tend not to use Photoshop too much, just sticking to the basic adjustments, but sometimes break free to try something "arty".

Thank you for visiting. I love seeing all your photos and hope you like mine.

Tweenie with Elsie, Maureen and Dennis

I've been doing some restoration on my husband's family's old photographs and came across this rather charming, but ultimately sad, picture. They obviously had a maid in those days. Posh! But the dog's the star. On the back of the photograph is written "..... Tweenie, the dog who was awarded the Royal Humane Society medal for saving ma's life. Tweenie was shot a day or so later in the garden of .... by burglars who returned." So lovely Tweenie had obviously done something very brave but ultimately paid the price. How sad. Here are the pics.

(I haven't checked the records but Karen thinks the name of the dog might be Queenie. Unfortunately there's no-one left to check with so I'll do some detective work and see if I can find anything out. Thanks Karen. Smile)
