Every now and again I get the urge to buy some nice, new equipment. Having sold my Canon 50mm f1.8 a while ago, I thought I might like the f1.4, having forgotten that I've already got a 40mm f2.8 pancake lens. Anyway, I put it on the camera and took a trip around the garden, and quite honestly, it was lovely to use. I think I can do without the extra 10mm, and have saved myself £200 (used) in the process. Sometimes we forget that we have perfectly good gear and really don't need those expensive extras. This is taken at f2.8 - good enough for me.
