Blown Glass Flowers

By SlowSong
In our local Valentines Park some artwork was commissioned to be placed in the formal gardens of Valentines Mansion to commemorate the Queen's visit last year. I've only just discovered them. Can't decide which pics I like best so I've put a few up. It was a very windy day too and I quite liked the swaying weeds (or whatever they are Grin).
V5 is the information board which has too much on it to type out here, but you can read it up large.

Thanks for looking, and for your very kind thoughts re the loss of my cat Poppy.

I think the composition of V.3 works best for me, Chris, they look like little miners with black hats Wink Carol

I like v1 and v2 the best of these, but like them all Chris. Are those reflecting balls pictured here. It's a favorite item in landscapes here where I live. The bulrushes are an interesting creation.

I think the dead plants in v1 are yarrow, at least it reminds of what's brown in my back garden right now.

Read the information and especially liked the fact that they are trying to use plants that don't need a lot of water - living in an area of drought, I certainly can see the benefits of not wasting water if not necessary.

v3 for me too, Chris, for the darker background and closer view. I'd noticed the bit on the board about the need for little water... and had a wry smile Smile

V3 for me too, for the greater sense of mystery and the clarity of the glass.
Super subject, I must keep my eyes open in our parks...

I am very fond of glass sculptures-- (Chihully) and these please lots-- they look like they reflect like water drops-- A splendid idea!

The weeds might be Autum Joy--or some other sedum???

A lovely set, Chris, they've done a great job here, so have you. I think i like v3 best but it doesn't matter because they're all good to look through!
