Everyone's a Critic

By SlowSong
How can art change society? People were invited to write down their thoughts on the exhibition and stick them on a wall. Lots of the messages are in languages I don't understand (none of them except English actually), so I didn't get a good overview. Still, I quite liked the look of the pencils and papers so I fiddled about with them and came up with this stark sort of image.

Thanks for looking
Chris Smile

I nearly didn't upload again as I'm so cross about all these fiddly changes, but I got another award for my "Everybody Move" pic from Meniko and andmolliethedog actually came back and gave his award which he wasn't able to the other day. So, what with Bill's, that's made three awards for that particular image which is amazing, and I needed that boost today as I'm a bit down in the dumps (but nothing to do with EPZ). Thank you so much. xxx

C'mon Chris It'll soon be tomorrow and the sun will be shining. I sometimes think I'm on the wrong site. You should put this image on the wall and show them what art is.

I find the image intriguing. A bit like consumer surveys, customer feed-back - makes people feel they are contributing something but what is achieved?
Which could be interpreted as referring to site changes too.
I really don't like the strip of Gallery pictures running under each upload, they are a serious distraction. Otherwise I can live with the changes. I'm a stoic.

EPZ seems to be changing daily at the moment! A fine capture, makes a great abstract....nice bit of fiddling about, too! Wink

You have made a fab composition here Chris with all those triangles and squares. Love the mono except for the 'how'! It looks best with the lights turned out so that the gallery pictures are obliterated - then it really comes to life.

Yeah, I know. Don't know why I did it. It's not been a good week so far so perhaps I was fiddling for the sake of it. Smile

A cathartic posting, Chris. Interestingly nobody has tried answering the question! (Nor me Smile)

And to top off all the changes, eps seems to run very slowly after you all go to bed-- making commenting in the evening here just about impossible--I mean I folded 3 loads of laundry while commenting on about 10 images---

Very untidy desk up there! (your image)

Hope you perk up, Chris...xx

Excellent shot of this messy feedback/forum corner.

I'm with you. I do NOT like the changes on EPZ. I loved the format before.

If it ain't broke, why fix it??

One must firstly distract our selves from the term 'Art', and think more in the terms of 'Expressionism', if we are ever going to truly understand 'How art can change Society'. Furthermore, one can think in the same way as we would if we were asked "Which came first, the Chicken or the Egg?" "What came first Art of Society?"

That's very interesting Nathan. I think I'm more of an expressionism sort of person. I like my art with a bit of feeling and meaning.

Keep yer pecker up Chris, so to speak, things could be a helluva lot worse......As for the changes on EPZ, I think they're all for the best, although I'm not sure about the scroll as yet.....

All the best......Ade
