f f f Fashion .................

No, I didn't get into the David Bowie exhibition yesterday as there was a long wait and I was a bit pooped after going round the Salgado exhibition, but I do like to pop into the design area on the ground floor of the V&A. There are always little nuggets that catch your eye.

This was a rather elegant mannequin wearing a yellow bracelet but true to form I didn't take any notes so have no idea who the designer was. One of my really bad faults I know.

Brilliant, lines plus telling detail.
Can I suggest that there's also a rather nice square crop to be had from the lower part of the frame? Simpler without the sleeve... Different, not necessarily better than this.
Assuming no tripods allowed, you have a steady hand!

I see what you mean Moira. I think it works both ways. I do like the 3/4 length sleeves though which showed more of the design of the outfit rather than concentrating on the bracelet. Two pics in one. Smile

The portrait format suits the arm shape more for me. Such a strong crop and excellent colour contrast. Love the tag and the title as well.

Well seen, Chris. I like the way all the elements flow on a diagonal, the perfect white background for the hands, and the way the bracelet stands out against the blacks, greys and white.

Thank you for the UA Moira. I'm glad you like it, although I think I could do it better and will have another go next time. I was just practising with my new toy so I was more concentrating on the various functions than what I was snapping. I know it'll be there for a good few years yet so no rush. Grin

A beautifully crafted composition, one which has clearly been thought out and executed. Very inventive and somewhat ingenious imagery which should be admired for its creative content, ingenuity and its refreshing new approach.

You did this on 1/4sec? ...WoW!!! Even with O.I.S., with a hand that steady maybe you should be running the economy....

Don't really care who the designer was, adds nothing for me.

"...clearly been thought out and executed" ...... Maybe, but feels to me more like a almost-grab-shot by someone who seriously knows what he's doing. When you have that much technique at your fingertips, you often don't need to think all that much- becomes automatic, almost like muscle-memory... you just do it.
Not really to my personal taste, but mucho respect ChrisSmile

So whaddaya think of the X10? ...I'm tickled pink with my new GH3...

I suspect Nathan didn't read my comment above, but nice of him to think so. Smile

Excellent composition Chris. The bracelet looks lovely in the strip of white space on a black glove. Very clever of you.....Sandy

A boring old tweed twin-set blinged up by a piece of cheap Chanel jewelleryGrin Actually, it could be a Chanel creation, that twinny..they used to have a penchant for slinging together tweedy things.
I think both this image and Moir's suggestion are spot-on I also like the contrast between the two mannequinns, the one standing out, t'other very nondescript.
