Introducing Gracie

By SlowSong
Well, after nine months without a cat we gave in. Here's our gorgeous new cat, Gracie. She's about 10 years old and we got her from a rehoming centre where she'd been kept in a small cage since July! Sad She hadn't even had a walk around on the floor since then so she was a bit wobbly when she arrived home with us. Someone took her there after she'd been seen following people in the street, all skin and bone and being bullied by other cats. Sad

She's so lovely with a sweet temperament and is totally domesticated so we think she probably had a home once and either got lost or chucked out. Anyway, their loss, our gain. She's already sorted out her sleeping/feeding arrangements. Grin Off to the vet tomorrow for a check up. It's lovely to have an animal around the house again. Smile

Lovely ending and new start for Gracie..so pretty and know lots on special moments to follow
I took on a ginger Tom Sunday that his owner had passed away, and she had him from RSPCA
that found him wandering street at approx 6 yrs old..now 10 yrs, has stopped the Siamese
meowing but they are still not friends, and he is always following me..so hope they soon make friends
as I also lost one 6 weeks ago..they are part of the family!

Gracie, congratulations on your new tame humans. From the contented face and body language, you know that you have them exactly where you want them. Be nice to them, humans really are very easy to manage if you purr sufficiently. And they take beautiful pictures to show you at your best.

Aw, thank you everyone. I'm a bit overwhelmed by all your good wishes.
She's wandering around the place and staking her claim to the best sleeping and eating places already so I think perhaps she's got us trained very early on. SmileSmileSmile

And thank you so much Julia, from both of us. SmileSmileSmile

Chris, if my wife sees this, we'll be getting another cat tomorrow. We haven't had any cats since our two beloved boys passed within a year of each other, in 2009 and 2010, respectively. one with a an abdominal tumour, the other with breathing issues. The house is so empty now. There are a number of reasons why we probably won't get any more, too many to explain, but at least we get regular visits from our neighbours' cats, which is some consolation.

Regards.
