Taken this morning at Westfield Shopping Centre, Stratford. I just saw this row of seats which face huge windows which overlook the piazza and people were just sitting there gazing out, or in the foreground lad's case, having a kip. I'd just been looking at a new camera but decided not to buy so feeling rather self-righteous that I haven't wasted any more money on unnecessary equipment, although very tempting. Smile

I just realised when I got home that I can't record a colour RAW and b/w jpeg when using the Program mode on the G11 so this is the b/w jpeg. No conversion done. I don't usually use program but thought I'd give it a go to see what it did. Pics were OK, but no RAW, so now I know - back to AV. Good job it wasn't anything important.

Chris Smile

And big thanks to Bill (Woolybill) and David (RockArea) for their UAs on my previous image. Smile

What comfortable looking chairs, Chris, I'm not surprised the lad fell asleep in one Smile A great candid, and very many congratulations for being so self-controlled and not falling for a new camera (yet!) Smile Carol

Nice the way those wings mean that you can avoid any risk of catching a neighbour's eye...
It's an impressive b&w, very clean-looking. I've never used digital in-camera mono, I'm too much of a control freak...

Very good capture Chris - sleeping in public is a risky thing to do when there are photogs around Tongue

Be glad you didn't buy the new camera - for now. A flaw in the LCD screen is showing up Sad

But if you capture a RAW which is recorded in colour and b/w jpeg together you have the best of both worlds. I particularly went out to do b/w so being able to see it on the screen is very useful.

Thanks Anne. That's good to know. Not so good for you though.

Yes,I knew about this feature on my G11 Chris but never used it.
And I am probably stating the obvious here,
but did you know in Macro mode the lens focuses down to 1 cm ?
This is the feature I use for 99.9% of my shots !!

Great candid and this is just how I feel about Christmas shopping this yearTongueTongue

This reminds me of the fact that shopping malls are the most tiring places. Such a good candid shot, and the tones are so lovely.SmileSmileSmile

A great candid and so well converted to mono. - gary

The macro's very good on the G11 Mick. Much better than most I'd say. Smile

But Gary, it's not a conversion. You didn't read my blurb - tut, tut. Grin

Well, that's a cracking candid capture, Chris, despite not been shot in Raw, and excellent depth of field from front to back Smile Lovely quality mono too - especially if this was how it was shot and not converted afterwards Wink
