The Shoot

By SlowSong
Seen on the beach of the Thames. I think they were models. The photographer certainly had a posh lens - pity I didn't get the angle right so you could see it.

"All the gear no idea?" A really well captured candid, which would look great in her Portfolio, "Did you ask for a price?"

I like the layers of interest in this. And we can write our own story.
She's taking a posed shot, by the way - you don't sit down on the ground to take a candid, you crouch down for a fast get-away!

Sorry Moira. I know she was taking a posed shot, I'd been following them.
I just thought the two being snapped were proper models and not just friends being photographed. They definitely had a purpose.
Perhaps it was my wording.

I have this vision now of photographer after photographer after photographer after photographer all lined up ... maybe EPZ should try for a mass-meeting to organise this?

Just to clarify - no criticism was intended! It was just an observation. You don't sit like that if you might need to make a quick escape!

It may be for part of a wedding album, pre-wedding and all that? I like the idea of this, watching the photographer at work.

You should've asked her, "May I take a shot of your posh lens?"

If she said no, you could've gone, "Ooo...too posh, are we? Eh? EH??"

Let's see her try to scuttle off after that with that large hump on her back. Which brings me to the hump...

...wouldn't she have been much more comfortable (AND stable) had she unstrapped the hump? On the other hand, the posh lens and whatever VR/IS she had going on might've compensated for the hump.

I don't think I've ever used the word 'hump' so many times in so few lines. I'm quite chuffed.

You should be chuffed too, Chris, with this shot. A very good capture of a capture.

Excellent shot of the group and their surroundings (we can always look at posh lenses elsewhere).

PS I did have a good time in London. Lots of places are dead quiet while the Olympics are on! I'll be interested to know what you think of Olympic Park when you've been.
