I also love the face, so many years and stories of life within it! I took pictures oy mum when she was about 95, before she lost her health and I just loved the way they turned out especially in mono. I think older faces have that extra quality about them.

A really charming and well timed character study and a fine example of how to hold the cup. Smile

Solveig? It's always good to welcome back an old friend.
Communication without direct eye contact... I sense a lady who likes to be very precisely in command of the situation and is very slightly humouring you and your odd obsession...

The UA is partly for the fact that this breaks the rule that I most enjoy seeing broken, the one about not having people on the edge of the frame looking out. As someone bleated on one of my uploads a while ago 'We don't know what they are looking at'. Precisely!
Oh and it's also for those fingers. And the mirror for balance...

Lovely portrait with an interesting composition. It makes me wonder who she is with. The pose is fantastic adding to that wonderment.

Good morning! We woke up to -3C today - not all that common in this part of the world - I was outside for a bit and must admit it is rather brisk.

Thanks to those who have stopped by. Special thanks to Moira, Chris and Leon for your UA's Smile

Anne, I waited until now because I wanted to give this a UA but the website thinks I don't have one to give until tomorrow. ???

Anyway -- consider this awarded.
This image has so much going for it. First of all -- the perfect composition and your excellent B&W tonalities. Your subject is precious. I love her pearls, her smile and, of course, that pinkie that indicates a "proper tea drinking lady."

A GREAT shot.
