Thanks for taking a look at my portfolio. My name is Gordon, and I am based on the Fylde coast in Lancashire. I take mostly landscape photos, with the odd flower or wildlife picture if I get the chance. Hope you find something you like.

  • Callanish Sunset

Hi Maureen, what would be better would be a Lewis sunset (the clue is in the title)!!! Grin

  • At The Forge

Mostly luck - just rattle off a few pictures and hope one of them caught the right moment.

  • A New York Minute

The 1.3 second exposure was the one with the static man, so I used that as the base (hence the EXIF data). The longest was 15 secs which gives an almost empty building.

  • Frosty Trees

It's pretty much the colour that came out of the camera - just a bit of contrast and clarity adjustments. There's a river running through the trees and the moisture from the river freezes on the trees.

  • Sunset

This is a lovely shot that is a pleasure to work on. I agree that the foreground looks a bit flat, but the sky is pretty much spot on. I've used Nik Filters to lighten the centre and darken the outside, combined with a little detail extractor. That has the effect of adding more contrast into the foreground and adds a bit of sharpening. I've removed the post, rotated slightly to level the sea and desaturated the green roof. Finally I've added a bit of lightening to the path to give a bit more of a lead-in. Hope you like it.

  • West Pier - sunset

Beautiful sunset and composition. A small point, but I love the birds sitting on the posts.

Took a look at your portfolio for your other version, and I think I prefer the mistier atmosphere of this version. Nice shot.

  • I've visited Scotland many times and walked up some of the mountains in your portfolio. Sadly I was not so much 'into' photography at the time, so came away with fond memories but only holiday snaps. Your portfolio makes me want to return and try harder!
  • Some lovely landscapes here - very much enjoyed looking through your portfolio.
  • Some nice images here - I especially like the night shots in Singapore.

  • A very impressive portfolio. Many interesting shots that make every day objects appear magical.
  • Before joining EPZ I had not really considered bird photography. Your portfolio goes a long way to convincing me to try it a bit more.
  • A very nice mix of landscapes and birds. Just what I like.
  • Some lovely shots here - a portfolio to be proud of.
  • A stunning portfolio. When I want to see how it should be done, this is where I'll look. All the more encouraging as I am just a few miles down the road.
