Thanks a lot for all your kind comments on this....BUT looking at the info since up-loading I could of done a lot better,it was shot at 130mm with a range of up to 300 I could of zoomed in a lot more...you live and learn !!! I just wanted to catch it before it flew away,these things are so quick.

Excellent well captured, Jean. Superb detail annd colour. I love the composition with the arching branch and bud in the corner. I think that this is perfect, if you had zoomed in closer you would have lost the impact of the image. For a first Bluey, this is stunning.

Nice one. To keep them sitting still a bit longer, crush up some peanuts, mix these in lard and then smear it on the back of the perch out of view. The birds will then sit there and nibble on the food whilst you snap away.

More good dof. What I like most about this is the bird 'has room to breath' within the frame. I might crop it in from the right so that the spur of the branch doesn't compete with the bird as a focal point but I think that's down to personal taste. I like how the branch forms a strong diagonal too.
