Curls and Bokeh

By AnneWorner
Just a quick upload - not much to say about it. Voting disabled, don't know how much I'll be able to comment in return.

Thanks for looking though,

(A dental procedure - to another dental procedure - to a pretty bad infection - to another procedure, and so on and so on. Not in the best shape these days - hopefully with time, things will improve more and more)

Don't worry about the commenting, Anne. I have contributed very little recently despite lacking a reason.
Wonderful photograph, just my kind of thing. Immensely satisfying.

What an excellent abstract to re-appear with, Anne.

I have spent nearly kr.40k on periodontitis treatment the past two years, so I sympathise 100% with you.

You are back uploading, that's important, not the commenting.

God bedring!

Quite magical. Sculptural precision, cool and elegant, against the miracle of light.
There's the energy of a coiled spring in there.
I regard teeth as the ultimate disproof of the Intelligent Design bandwagon...

Wonderful sensuous abstract with great bokeh, Anne.

It's cr*p when you're not well, but researching a new lens is great therapy GrinGrin

This is GORGEOUS. You have used your lens and your DOF setting to create a very creamy bokeh. The placement of this plant in your comp. is perfect as well.
PS -- So sorry to hear about the health issues.

That's rather good. The only thing I can think of that might improve it would have been to better align the highlights with the loop of the grass… Also taking the sharpening down a tad on the background to soften the edges of the blurred highlights whilst sharpening the stalk and maybe even using differential contrast to pull back the BG whilst emphasising the FG.

Great idea, just needs a few tweaks to turn it into a winner.

Sorry to hear about the dental problems. Been there and it's not much fun. Sad

Really lovely. Elegant and artistic.

Its virtually impossible to align the bokeh with the subject as you cant see bokeh unless you use the depth of field preview button, and even then, its not at all easy. It would have looked great aligned, but it looks great as it is, totally random.
