Ullswater - A Mystical World

By Suehh
After Northumbria Steven and I travelled eastwards and went through the Lake District - we have never actually stopped there before - simply bypassing on the way to Scotland or wherever. Ullswater in the fading light.

I am sure this is a much photographed spot but we spent far longer here than we meant to - a wonderful, beautiful place that took my breath away. An unadulterated image - (though I do love a bit of adulteration!) apart from a tweak in levels. Don't worry, there is not likely to be many more - my camera card became corrupted and I lost most of my images! Boo hoo!

Thank you so much for your lovely comments on my last upload.

Sue

What a shame about your camera card Sad
Still, at least you managed to capture this stunner - I hope you are going to frame this!

If there were more on the card like this then the corrupted card is a real loss! Great shot. going to the Lakes later this week and if I come back with one this good it'll have been a worthwhile trip.

Sue, that is magical! I love the way your eye is drawn into the distance by the curving waves and line of mountains. And the foreground branches anchor it. And the hint of color is so subtle but impressive! A great image!

An altogether superb image. Just love the subtle tones and the beautiful light. Sorry to learn about the loss of other images, but having such a beautiful one as this surely makes up somewhat?

Almost monochromatic, but a wonderful capture, Sue. Like how the tones become softer in the distance, which really give it feeling of depth.

This is a fantastic shot Sue. A while back, I accidentally formatted my card and lost all images. Someone EPZ recommended downloading a programme named PhotoRescue. You get a trial before you decide to purchase. This worked for me, in fact not only retrieved most of my shots, but also ones I had previously deleted! May be worth a try. Think it cost me about 20. Morning Sue,
Check this link . This Hong Kong lad has so many interesting stuff in his YouTube Channel as well as their Website . Specially this video that I specially navigated to find out since first I saw it 6 months ago. It explains how you can save your SD cards after even dropping into the aquarium for some time.
Coming back to your upload and this scene, it's really beautiful and appeasing to the eye. The misty looking mountains make it for me.
Though it all goes back to the personal taste, I think both look great, with the leaves in the foreground as well as cloning the leaves in the foreground. I like this and without leaves for the sake of practice in PS and photoediting skill
