Wehrmacht Heer Scutze ( Private in the German Army)

By carper123
WW2 re-enactment day image, taken quite recently, just got round to processing the black and white version. (self portrait, kept moving my head around to get the focus point on my eyes, very tricky but I had a right laugh, the remote was in my right hand, hardly a good gun grip as you can seeBlushBlushBlush) lol. Don't you just luv those earsBlushBlushBlushWink.
Cheers my good friends.
Darryl. Smile SmileSmile

A fine shot Darryl.
And what is wrong with your ears ?
They would make a good rest for two snipers behind you to rest their rifles on !!

Excellent work Darryl !! If it was not for that hat the ears would be quite normal and less Alien like SmileGrinGrin

As far as the composition is concerned, your image works well, the pose and the state of alertness so very evident in the eyes and so very well captured. However something is screaming out at me which does not look quite right. Its the Black and White processing. During your processing, you seemed IMHO to have overworked the sharpness which in turn has brought out every single fibre in the cloth of the uniform as well as the background. This again IMHO causes somewhat of a distraction. I feel that if the image were colour then this wouldn't be so evident.

Great job doing a SP. When you get an idea and want to do it NOW, most times all we have is ourselves. A serious looking soldier. Super processing.......Sandy
Amazing processing, one that has an effect that I like very much indeed, creative indeed working hand in hand,

Your patience has paid off very well, Darryl with a stunning image that looks great in B&W ( except for the ears GrinGrinGrin).
