Where has the time gone...

By NDODS
A familiar London landmark to those who have ventured this far South, which I captured in my pioneering days of Digital Photography.

Thank you for all your very open and honest comments and critiques following yesterdays upload. It is not until you ask for such critique that you realise the real standard of your work.

The sun is shining I am rather well so who knows what the day will being.

I hope that you all have a great day ahead.

Regards as always Nathan

At first look the cranes reminded me of music notes, it makes for a very interesting image.

Not knowing London at all well, I cannot identify this spire but from the number and size of these cranes, it soon to be dwarfed by many much taller structures.
All the verticals sit comfortably together here.
Glad you are feeling too but whilst you have sun, we have drizzle.

Good processing Nathan. Loved the comments from you yesterday. Lovely Mono's here. I thought it was from Spider man then I realized I couldn't see him. If I had to just make a little suggestion ( don't you dare critique my plane either) It looks like you graduated the sky , but I don't think that it added to your image, that's just an observation Nathan. So happy your feeling better now go and take some photographs and enjoy the day, Regards John.

Nicely taken Nathan, tried to add a mod but the image is very good to start with so it's difficult to make any improvements,

Two brilliant shots Nathan, love them both

Like those cranes very much indeed, it's like buildings with arms doing human work adding to their
surroundings , nice shots Nathan well spotted and captured

Hi Nathan,

"Critique Wanted" i prefer v2 as its like a window to the growing world.

V1 leaves my eye roaming for a point to settle on, its a little dark and the top of the spire seem lost.

Best Wishes

My goodness, Nathan, these are two oldies .... but goodies!!
I like the compositions and the presentation in mono.
I wonder what was being built and could we really have afforded it??!!
Glad you're feeling better today - have a good one.

Lacking a bit of contrast for me, Nathan, but some interesting and very good versions appearing. Had to try something different for mine. A painterly effect.

At a guess the BBC building in the BG Nathan, to be honest I'm not quite clear in my own head what you were trying to do.

I thought at the thumb level it was a reflection in a puddle.

Not a critique Nathan more some questions, sorry.

Some good strong lines on both of these images Nathan,I like the content.
Both just seem a tad under exposed though & lacking a touch of contrast which has rendered them generally quite grey,I reckon a good ole tweak of the levels & contrast would really help these two.
Some good mods for you to consider too.

V1 for me since it shows more contrasting elements

Prefer vw, but your mono conversion is very heavy and grey with even heavier tones towards the top. Something not quite right. Might be under exposure in the first place or might be the conversion. You did use the channel mixer i hope. Almost looks like an ND grad was used, but then under exposed?

Looks like this has a lot of historical interest for members!

It can be a sort of 1984 moody, futuristic image, or perhaps the terrific Brazil. I like Fefes mod, - shes gettinging into that end of times look.

Original looks like you used a grad, and the exposure can be evened out for a more boring mod.

Im sure nonur means "old feel"!

Something very different again, Nathan! Nice "melancholy" feeling. A slow but pleasant atmosphere. Something from the 50 `s in a good sense.GrinGrinGrin --- The very best regardrs ! --- Jukka.

In answer to your question I really don't know, its the end of April already! It doesn't seem long since I last viewed your work but it is nearly two weeks as it has taken me so much time to catch up!Sad There are never enough hours in the day to get things done
