Yorkshire Pullman & New A1

This evening we went to Grantham to see the New A1 class pacific 60163 Tornado hauling the up Yorkshire Pullman. She was booked to take water, so we had the chance to see her twice. I have not been to Grantham for many years and found the station and the surrounding area of the town very depressing, so it was a case of get what you can and go home!

This was taken as she was departing for King's Cross. The low evening sun made the smoke and steam look luminous.

These were taken of her arriving a few minutes earlier.

An excellent set of shots Spike. V1 & V3 are my favs. V1 reminds me so much of arriving at Peterborough and seeing Brunswick Green pacifics passing over the road in much the same manner. What a thrill it would have been to see this.

These are three great shots, I would have liked to have seen Tornado myself but we were at Llangollen, [can't be in two places at once]
Thanks for your comments on My Mayflower shot, she looked superb, a better paint finish than Royal Scot in my opinion.

Like the 1st shot with the cars. 21st century scene with 21st century locomotive.
