The last of my images from 333 Collins street, this is looking up at the ceiling of the central chamber.
It was constructed over 100 years ago. The building is the former Banking chamber and entrance vestibule of the Commercial Bank of Australia. The construction of the Dome had to provide good natural lighting and ventilation. The architects solved the problem by a glass lantern above the dome oculus and a series of clerestory windows that could open for air flow. Today this chamber is just a very elaborate foyer for the modern office building attached.
Many thanks for your votes comments and user awards all much appreciated
