  • Careful at Curbar

I should elaborate. The title is due to the very dark light when it was taken and the fact I was near the edge for most of the shots I did.

  • Favourite tree

    Thank you.
You know this tree is just aside the M1 on junction 28. Never escapes my eye as I drive by.

I have no issue with the composition or tone on this other than the strange dust lines if that's what they are , and it might need straightening a little. This is a great image that I would be happy to stick on my wall or appreciate on a magazine cover, The coastline to me is the subject , but if Im picky perhaps the distant rock could be sharper and more prominent in some way. In photoshop it shows a fair amount of play on the highlight areas. Perhaps a slight boost there if Im really being picky. As for the dust , there are some dust spots at the top edge when you look closer and would agree it would be worth investigating the lines further in case its damage to the sensor or just dirt. Hope this helps and doesn't in any way lessen your effort on this great shot .

  • The Shard

The only issue really is the composition. Which is mostly really good. Its a great shot but the building site in front does nothing for me , unless that was the intention, Saying that I was going to suggest a crop , but I put my money where my mouth was and downloaded a photo and started to modify but you can't really do a crop without altering the perspective in photoshop . So would go with my first suggestion of composition , or somewhere that gives you that cleaner view .
I noticed perhaps the highlights are a little too strong as detail is lost there, if you have RAW and cant adjust in lightroom that would probably give something back . I do like the almost silhouette nature of the Sun shining through the buildings though . Also there is room to sharpen it up quite a bit.
I like the colours ,and the positioning of the Sun behind the shard, hope this helps . Well done for evading the security guards. Always seem to be a problem.

  • Excellent Images.
  • Excellent Portfolio Martin. I have been to Curber Edge a few times and found it great. Saw your Portfolio in PM. Well Done and Well Deserved.
Would be keen to hear what processing you do in Photoshop as I find I can play for hours and not get anywhere?

    All the Best.
