Kitty Close

By Squirrel
Another from my session with Kitty Blue.

A friend gave me a book by the photographer Joe McNally. It got the creative juices going. One of his lighting sets up intrigued me, he describes it as like an open clam shell. The boxes her used were much larger than the ones I have, but nothing ventured nothing gained.

Two soft boxes one above the other directly in front of the model. The lower box is set 1-1&1/2 stops below than that of the upper box.
You place your camera in the gap between the two boxes try to get in tight and away you go. You have to watchout for the angles that the light are set at because you end up with two square catchlight in the eyes if its not quite my friend said "thats what photoshops for"
