Comet Holmes

By starman1
A shot of Comet Holmes taken from my front yard last night. The camera was tripod mounted, in manual mode using a 15 second exposure at ISO of 400 at f 4.5. I've cropped a bit on the left side to remove a slight flare from a near by streetlight and tweaked the contrast and mid-tones.

Comet Holmes is currently located in the constellation Perseus, looking like an out of focus, slightly fuzzy star even to the naked eye.

It is about 186,000 million miles out (2 AU or earth - sun distances) and is heading away from us.
