hi Lauren, love the idea of closing in on the foal with the comforting shape of its motherin the background. A couple of minor niggles; first, I find the green patch a bit distracting, though unfortunately because of the angle cropping would not be an option here. Secondly, a tiny bit more hihgtlight in (its left eye might be nice)

But hey, I'm in nitpicking mood - nice portrait

Thanks for the feedback. I agree with you; I did try a closer crop to remove the green but it really didn't suit the character of the shot so I picked the lesser evil and just left it. I'm back there at the weekend so I'll try to get some more of the little fella permitting.

No, no shaved neck. It's probably just where his foal fluff is departing and he's getting some hard coat coming through.
