The Last Post

Well, not my very last post here on EPZ of course, but probably the last from my Christmas holiday…and this was the best title I could think of other than ‘Icicles on a pillarbox’! Wandering around the village of Strathpeffer on Christmas morning, I liked these icicles on the pillarbox and thought it worth capturing. Didn’t fancy it as an upload on here as shot, but thought it suited blending in with the frosty templates on the latest Digital Photo CD. I don’t expect it to go down well, but I'm scraping the bottom of the barrel - and it’s different

Looks a little better seen large if you have the time.

1/100 sec, F5.6, 20mm, ISO 200 + thick woolly socks & gloves…
Single Raw image processed in Adobe Camera Raw, tweaked in Elements 6, with some assistance from Topaz Adjust…and Digital Photo mag!

Thanks again to everyone for your votes & comments on my previous uploads, it really is appreciated and encouraging.

I like this shot, Trev. It is interesting and so well processed to give a most pleasing image. Thinking outside the box often turns up trumps.

I like this Trev as a shot of the pillar box with the lovely snowy village in the background.
I hope you don't mind me saying, but the issue for me is that my eye is naturally drawn to the quaint village scene and the icicles get a little lost in the shadows rather than being the central feature
